Master Account • December 29, 2022

Whether your child is at the beach or out in the hot sun at home, it is important to know when to put sunscreen on a child. You also need to know at what age do children start wearing sunscreen, which is recommended to be at 6 months old so that baby sun sensitivity can be avoided. Depending on the age of your child, they need to be taught about sun safety. By wearing sunscreen, your child will be able to avoid the effects of too much sun exposure.

There are a variety of sunscreens available that recommend a safe amount of time to be in sun. By having your child wear sunscreen you also need to ensure that the sunscreen is reapplied after the amount of time has lapsed for wearing it.

By following tips for sun safety in babies and children you will know how and when the sunscreen is to be applied. As sunscreen is applied, it needs to cover all areas of exposed skin such as behind the ears and back of the neck.

Wearing a good sunscreen is a great sun safety procedure that all parents need to abide by in order to keep their kids safe in the sun.

Sun Exposure Prevention Tips

Besides the above, there are other sun and heat exposure guidelines and sunscreen safety tips to be aware of for your child: The sunscreen should be PABA free. It has been shown that allergies can develop from PABA. If your child's skin is sensitive, then you should take measures of how to prevent sunburns on babies, and using sunscreen will be the first step. When your child prefers to use a sunscreen that is also a tanning agent, then it should include UV ray protection.

All of this information can help you protect your child’s skin from the sometimes dangerous rays of sun.
